
Krista Kampus
Executive Director of the Tallinn European Green Capital 2023 at the City of Tallinn | Estonia
Krista Kampus is the Head of the EU and International Relations Department at the City of Tallinn’s Strategic Management Office. She also holds the position of Executive Director for the Tallinn European Green Capital 2023 programme. She has more than 20 years of experience on issues related to international cooperation, sustainable development, climate, and cohesion policy. As the lead for the Baltic 21/Baltic 2030 Unit at the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Sweden, Krista was in charge of reaching Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and forging climate cooperation between the Baltic Sea States’ national, sub-national, and local stakeholders, the EU, UN, and multiple other international organisations. The Baltic Sea Region Sustainability Leadership Programme – which Krista initiated – has recently been rolled out in the EU Eastern Partnership Countries. She was also behind the Baltic Sea Region Climate Dialogue Platform and the regional partnership and action plan for SDG implementation. Additionally, Krista has worked as the Director of the European Territorial Cooperation Bureau at the Estonian Ministry of Interior, coordinating EU territorial cohesion programmes.
